Achievement

If a child or adolescent is gifted, this means that they have the potential for exceptional achievement, which, although it may be realized, does not necessarily have to be.

What is exactly understood by achievement can vary considerably. It is determined by a society and its culture and negotiated via social interaction. Exceptional achievements are mostly accounted for on a multifactorial basis using models of giftedness.
