Child Poverty
-
Child poverty refers to the consequences of family income poverty on children. According to the EU definition, anyone whose income is below 60 % of the average salary in a society is considered to be living in poverty.
Poverty is more than just a lack of material resources. It results in insufficient access to goods and services within a given society and can restrict social participation. This creates structural inequalities that significantly impact children’s living conditions. For children, family income poverty can affect their education and health. Therefore, providing free educational opportunities in institutions is crucial for fostering children’s abilities, ensuring that all children have equal opportunities to participate.
