Learning diary

Learning diaries are a useful way for learners to regularly and independently reflect on and document their own learning processes and outcomes.

Learning diaries can be used either in traditional (paper-and-pencil) or digital form and standardized or individualized to varying degrees. Their use as tools supporting self-regulated learning processes is associated with a number of positive effects including supporting learning strategies and metacognition. Learning diaries are used in the context of promoting giftedness as tools for individualized support or in educational assessment.
