Resource orientation

Resource orientation is the term used to describe the educational and advisory attitude that focuses on the personal strengths, potentials, and abilities of a person and their environment. Not just the resources themselves but also raising a person’s awareness of them and reinforcing them are seen as essential for learning-related and personal development.

Giftedness, in a resource-oriented sense, is considered primarily as the potential of a person rather than as a possible cause of problems in school or in life. Appreciating and activating this potential fosters the successful development of giftedness and helps a gifted person to overcome specific challenges in such a way that they can integrate their giftedness successfully into their self-concept.
