Self-Efficacy

Self-efficacy refers to the degree to which individuals believe they can successfully handle challenging tasks. People with higher self-efficacy expectations tend to be mentally and physically healthier, experience less stress, and achieve better performance in school and work environments.

A strong sense of self-efficacy is especially beneficial for gifted children and adolescents, as it enables them to showcase their high cognitive potential and approach challenges with greater confidence. For gifted underachievers, in particular, fostering self-efficacy is crucial for building a positive self-concept and rekindling their motivation to learn.
