Sustained shared thinking
-
This term refers to situations in which educators and children enter into a dialogue with one another that can be conducive to shared thinking, discussing issues, solving problems, or clarifying concepts.
The child experiences active involvement during this two-way communication and feels empowered by it. Sustained shared thinking can provide a good opportunity to address complex questions from children with high cognitive abilities and to create an interactive dialogue with the children.
